The History of Joe Hall Roofing
begins with Lando Hall. Lando Hall was born in Texas from
Scottish and Irish descendents. The grit and determination that
Lando learned from his father made him a success in the
carpentry business in Arlington, Texas in the 1930’s. Lando
Hall could build anything with a handsaw and simple hand tools.
Lando was considered a master carpenter back in a time that the
term master carpenter had meaning. Many of the homes built in
Arlington in the 1940’s were built by Lando, and his son, DJ
Hall. Even grandson Joe Hall participated in home construction
during summer vacation from school. |

DJ Hall was an expert at many
mechanical skills but was best known as a masonry contractor.
When winter came to North Texas, DJ also cut firewood for folks
needing fuel. DJ's customers burned
the firewood in the fireplaces he built for them. His commitment to his customers underlined his
success. Later in life, DJ went into ranching in West Texas. DJ’s
greatest accomplishment was his wife Lola Jo. Lola Jo was a
professional working woman employed at LTV/Vought for years. She
was a dear and true friend to all who knew her.
In an age of specialized
tradesmen, when everyone knew each other and honesty and
forthrightness was the norm, DJ excelled in the knowledge and
skills which are the hallmark of an exceptional brick mason
contractor. DJ also set an unsurpassed standard for
forthrightness and honesty in business.
Joe Hall got his first experience
in the building trades working with his Grandfather Lando and
his father, DJ Hall, during summer vacation in the 1950’s.
Joe Hall learned the family qualities of hard work and the
meaning of a dedication to quality workmanship. Joe learned the
meaning of "keeping your word" in an age when business
was transacted without multi-page contracts and attorneys at
every turn.

Joe Hall and the Roofing Industry
The Hall family heritage in
roofing began in the late 70’s. Joe Hall was instrumental in
growing JEH Supply Company (now known as Gulf/Eagle) into a nationally known distributor
with 20 locations across the country. In 1988, JEH Supply decided to
get out of the contracting business in North Texas as Best Top
Roofing, and concentrate on their success in distributing
roofing materials nationwide.

Joe Hall becomes an Entrepreneur
The departure of Best Top Roofing
left Joe with the opportunity to create his own North Texas
roofing company. In 1988, Joe created Joe Hall Roofing. Great
relationships with past clients and a legacy of hard work made
the company successful. The big storms of 1992 helped make the
company very successful. 2 years of storm damage work grew the
company. Personal attention to the needs of customers, coupled
with a company commitment to treating customers like you would
like to be treated yourself; has kept the company growing fast
ever since.

legacy with the company is marked by his relentless pursuit of
improving the company to better serve customers. His wife Tina
joins Brett and Joe’s other son, Derek in the dream of
building the very best roofing company possible. Together the
Hall family, with the help of many talented and dedicated
employees has grown Joe Hall Roofing into the 71st largest

"We Love the Roofing Industry and
Pleasing Customers"
Brett Hall’s driving ambition
to build the very best roofing company, brings forward the
legacy of 4 generations of Hall family builders and contractors
in Texas. The company is
built on these cornerstones. A
company commitment to
unsurpassed knowledge and expertise in roofing. A
continuous effort to build on a foundation of honesty and
integrity, to maintain a
dedication to caring about customer’s interests. These
are the cornerstones upon
which Joe Hall Roofing has prospered for 25 years. These same
values will insure success for the next 25 years.
The legacy of Lando Hall and DJ
Hall and Joe Hall and Brett Hall is a commitment to quality
workmanship and dedication to the customer. This commitment will
continue in the future as it has for the last 4 generations and
will continue as the Hall children grow up and learn respect and
personal integrity at the knees of their fathers and
grandfathers. |
